Esther Dyson: SEraja among top 100 web ideas
pepper square project commended

 Esther Dyson, the noted expert and commentator on emerging digital technology, has picked SEraja as "perhaps the most ambitious events project" in her quarterly report, Release 1.0 (Dec 2005). SEraja is an event web, positioning itself as the ultimate guide for events spread across geographic locations and time zones.
pepper square has been involved with the project from idea generation to execution. "SEraja required development support from a company who was willing to share the risks involved in embarking on an experimental endeavor such as this. We were chosen for our competence with Web 2.0 technologies like Ajax techniques and of course, our core integration skills and expertise in content, design and technology," explained Mukundan Regunathan, Founder & CEO, pepper square.
Calling SEraja "a million single points in time and space," Esther Dyson applauded the multimedia experience portal that gathered data from sources as diverse as blogs, audio, video, web pages, individual publishers of events & so on, and presented it with insight, in a manner that goes beyond the role of a passive data provider.
For pepper square, the project involved idea incubation, extensive research, storyboard, UI design, and integration work. The challenge was in the use of Ajax techniques to integrate the UI with open APIs (Application Programming Interfaces). SEraja is currently being tested and is expected to go live in April 2006.
